For those of you who just wandered in here out of the cold damp corridors, you will find a warm welcome. With so much to say…with images and music, we are looking for people that may just find themselves feeling at home within this sound of ours… we know you’re out there. So if you happen to come across our page and find yourself a little drawn in…ever so slightly curious to know who is behind all these…passionate and provocative creations… then pull up a chair…

We believe in love…the power of it, the destruction and the pain of it… I think we understand it in all its many guises…perhaps enough to capture it. Our songs tell a story, individually and as a whole, when you listen you will start to hear the thread of our experiences woven through each one. It’s a story of the deepest emotions, sorrow, joy and inevitability, fight and surrender.

KMP was born in Lebanon of Armenian parents, and for 7 years lived there with his family until the war drove them to find safety on the other side of the world. He lives in LA now, surrounded appropriately by palm trees and sunshine, a well deserved refuge of a boy that spent 8 days in a basement in Lebanon waiting for the bombs to stop falling outside. He didn’t speak English until he was 7, and although he now has an American accent he still speaks Armenian fluently, and there is no language more full of passion. You can hear it resonating in his music, the exotic middle eastern flavors and rhythms that make every music production unique and instantly recognizably KMP.

For as long as I can remember I was a wordsmith, my teachers at school telling me they had instructions to allow me to daydream in class because they believed I had a rare talent as a poet, but it wasn’t till much later I discovered I could sing and my half Irish and very passionate side was allowed to express itself. Since then I have been told I sound like Karen Carpenter on many occasions, Dido and Sade among others. I have lived in England all my life, perhaps one reason why my lyrics bend to the darker side of emotions on the whole, England can be a somewhat depressing place in winter, and the rain can be relentless. A far cry from the beautiful LA sunshine!

We began our journey at the beginning of 2004 having met quite by chance, we found ourselves drawn together by a bizarre twist of fate. The powerful chemistry between us is evident in all our creations, my voice and words melded perfectly with the exotic KMP soundscapes, bizarre when you consider the distance between us, and the difference in our cultural backgrounds. After 2 years we have created over 20 songs. Just released our debut album ” A Beautiful Chemistry”. Feel free to take some time to listen to the sample tracks.

Our debut CD, “A Beautiful Chemistry” was released in 2006. It was received with more love and support than we could have hoped for. After topping many internet charts, the anticipation from our fans for a CD was tremendous. We packed it in with 15 of our best hits and sold out within weeks. Below is just a few reviews we received from our fans. Please read the full review list in our reviews button on top.

“My husband and I enjoyed listening one rainy Saturday afternoon. We love knowing that the passion of this CD lives in the relationship of the artists. The soothing blend of sounds cradle you with sensuality….Like sipping on a hot latte and knowing that your cup is full and you can savor it slowly…. The instrumental awakening is when you first play this CD..the words are expressions of passion. It is a CD worth buying because each song is a prelude to the next one…consequently, there was not one song I did not enjoy!”

Really, impressed more than matched my expectations
author: Steve Greenhalgh

“I took a chance when I bought this CD because I had never heard or heard of Lisa and KMP. I was totally blown away by what I heard. I try not play it too often as I don’t want to become over famillar with it. I want to keep it fresh. Well done, a spectacular achievement.”

“Ciao! Today opening the mailbox I found a marvelous surprise: YOUR CD!!!! I already listened to it 3 times in a row (all afternoon) and I believe is unbelievably MAGIC! I’m proud we had a little part in one of the tracks, and I want to send you both my very compliments for this great album: amazing graphics (we almost got use to it from your websites, but on the album is even better), amazing music (perfectly composed and produced: you’re a great musician & producer, Harout!) and warm, sexy vocals with true poetry, full of emotion and evident songwriting talent (my compliments also to Lisa for her sensual voice and her talent writing poetry). In a word: a masterpiece! My compliments once more!
Greetings from Italy, your friend and fan”

As promised this is the first of our “song” blogs, and as many of you have added this particular song to your profiles, which incidentally makes us deliriously happy, we decided it would be the best song to start with. So if you want to know a little more about A DAY without RAIN, then keep on reading.

We composed the song in October 2004, and ever since has always been one of our own personal favorites for many reasons. Firstly, because it was a hugely difficult time for both of us, struggling, with separate issues on different sides of the Atlantic, KMP’s music was reflective and at times torturously sad, but colored by moments of soaring spirit, not to mention anger, frustration, and a healthy dose of sexual tension, as is his way. It was always going to be something of an epic.

We decided, and not without some wily persuasion on my part :), to include some KMP Armenian spoken word in the song. It’s a beautiful language to listen to, and as he tells me much more passionate than English, so I felt it well placed in this emotional roller coaster of a song. So KMP fans should especially enjoy this one as he effortlessly seduces everyone in a few words where I have to sing my heart out for the same effect!

In the intro he speaks and I echo his words in English, but in the bridge section, well I’ll be honest I can’t remember for the life of me the English translation of his words, so if you want to know you’ll have to ask him. Whatever it is it sounds very appealing.

Within the lyrics I attempted to capture all the emotions I was hearing laid out before me, and there were so many, but fundamentally this is a song about hope…about dreams and about never giving up because however bad it seems.. it can never rain forever. You hold out your hand to offer support and comfort…or in my case I sing, and then I sing again and then some more until we got the effect of a soaring angelic wave of sound to echo the words of the chorus… “I can save you let me save you, all you have to do is lie back and listen”

Just the promotional picture alone caused an awful lot of trouble on the music sites where 7th Sin appeared. Granted it is very subversive, and deeply provocative, but we argued that it was a fair representation of the song itself, therefore justified. In the image LiSA is standing in a seductive pose, her head turned to the side obscuring her face like she cares not if you are staring in either shock or admiration at her raising her dress to reveal her underwear. The background shows a wall, like the kind you may find in a dirty alleyway, it’s dark, threatening…and the 7 deadly sins can be faintly made out, etched in red on the wall and slightly obscured by chains.

7th Sin is a song about lust…not your average every day lust, but something much more intense, dark, needful, desperate, spring to mind. From the way she demands to be looked at, admired…to the beats audibly mimicking the sound of cracking whips. There is enough psychology going on in this one to keep a room full of psychiatrists busy for weeks.

Hot songs have always been something of a LiSA & KMP specialty, her sultry voice, his talent for erotic beats lend themselves well to a type of song that is traditionally very hard to pull off. Despite that, 7th Sin ventured much further into this area than any of our other creations, hence its infamous reputation, and the claim by many who have listened that they needed a cold shower directly after hearing it! So we think we made a convincing job of 7th Sin as one of the hottest most erotic songs to be found in Indie music, but ultimately, it’s up to you to decide

Take care all of you..and thanks for reading
